Nothing Unhealthy - Day 3

31 Days of Nothing {Unhealthy}

I have appreciated all of the encouragement for the challenge and I've received lots of advice on how to be successful.  One thing is sure: everyone has a way that works for them and I'm still looking for mine.

We have a large group of people participating and some of them decided to blog about their journey through the month as well.  If you’d like to check in on some of them, by all means (if I’ve forgotten you, I’m sorry!  Leave your blog address in my comments and I’ll get you added!):

Day 3
  • Breakfast: Bagels and Lox
  • AM Snack:  Nada
  • Lunch: Bean Burrito & Chicken Taco
  • PM Snack: Cheeze-its.  I have a thing, as you can see by now.  I didn’t count them out.  Ok, there was a bowl involved.  A small child’s bowl.  Nonetheless.  A bowl.  (of cheeze-ity goodness….what?!?)
  • Dinner: Anton cooked a wonderful meal of swordfish (6 oz fillets), steamed broccoli, and fettuccine noodles with a little bit of olive oil and garlic.   Now, I could tell you that I didn’t have seconds of the noodles…or thirds (cough), but that would just be downright rude.  He slaved over them, people.  Slaved, I tell you!  A watched pot never boils and all that bologna sauce.

I realized after reading today’s menu that it was a bit pitiful.  Lots of no-no’s.  And I’ve yet to start my Couch 2 5K.  I can’t even…I don’t even know where to start.  Except to just go do it.  Everything in me is screaming NOooooooooooooo.  And my box of half-eaten and admittedly half-stale Cheeze-its is beckoning Yeeeeeeeeessssssss.

Every time I sit down with a “no-no” treat...every time it's nearing my lips...I can hear Babs singing in the background…”and we got nothin’ to be guilty of….our love…it’s one in a million, eyes can seeeeee, that weeeeee, got a highway to the skkkkkyyy”

Oh help.

What’s up with the worst hardest challenge yet?

Hate it.  So “challenged” by it! (mussahfussahfriggityfrackitystupidchallengeihateit)

Are you waiting on a happy post?  Oh honey…pull up a chair.  It could be a while.  Or never.  One of those.

(p.s. totally lost/erased/wrote over my last post for Day 2.  SO BUMMED!  Comic genius in there as I recall.  What the heck?!  It's totally gone.  No idea what happened to it.  Can't find it anywhere.  So bummed!)

The first thing you need to do is STOP BEATING YOURSELF UP!!! You actually had a good day..15 cheeze and a bite size snickers are not what got us to this weight it is the BOX or cheeze its and the whole fun size bag of snickers..
If I could go to a mexican rest. and only eat 15 chips I would be so proud of myself..it is the BOWLS we eat that is the problem.
Be happy with the choices you made as I am proud of you!!!

Healthy Hugs to You!!

Hey all,
Christie, I am so glad to see that I'm not the only one over thinking, and over-obsessing about the inability to load my body with junk! What the heck....overeating really is an addiction, huh?

I'm a teacher so we went back to school yesterday (insert whine). My first challenge was the meeting with DONUTS, DANISHES, and coffee with flavors of every kind. I took my yogurt and banana and made it through the 3 hours (only glancing at the donut boxes 20+ times or so...).

Lunch was a nice hardy chef salad and dinner was chicken, greens, wild rice and black eyed peas. Not too bad but I had to make myself go to bed early to keep from snacking...seriously, why am I thinking about ice cream sandwiches at 9:30 just because I can't have one?????

Exercise was non yesterday but I am getting ready to head out for W1d2 of couch to 5k. It's freezing here so this will be interesting....

I posted a comment on your FB page and told you to check out Zevia soda. It's 100% natural with no artifical anything. It's got no sugar b/c it's sweetened with stevia plant. I don't do soda very often but they do make Zevia in just abt. every flavor (Coke, Dr. Pepper, Mountain Dew, Cream Soda, etc). Maybe this will help you make it thru your challenge? Good luck!

I dont think yoiu failed at all... This is a very difficult challenge, and we may have to taper off a bit first before we can complete this challenge.. I think your doing really well... and your being honest so thats 3 points in your favor as well.

YOU can DO IT! Larry tells me that I don't have to stop eating what I want, just minimize it. You are doing that! I had m&m's tonight after dinner, but I wanted a piece of Pepperidge Farm Fudge cake. Good thing I didn't buy it because my piece is usually 1/4th of the cake!

Hey Christie, Hope you are doing well. Will you please add me to the list. I could use all the support I can get. Thanks, Lauren

Would it make you feel a bit better if I said that I ate cookies yesterday ... and um, today. It was bad!

But you can do this ... start small with the walking/running. Go outside and decide that you're going to walk for 30 minutes and then do that again tomorrow. You can do this!!!
