We're still completely wiped out. The house is a mess. The suitcases have yet to be moved from their initial "plop" point. The kids aren't sleeping all that great at night (Keira thinks it's China time, bless her heart) and so Mom and Dad are up at all hours. Dishes are piled up. Bottles are everywhere. Diapers are climbing in numbers and taking over. We're still sick. Laundry is a mile high and several mounds wide. Mail is in a big Leaning Tower of Pisa stack. Burp cloths, teething rings, Puffs, baby food, formula, baby toys, and hairbows are strung from one end of this home to the other...
and yet...
She's in that room, folks. She's in that crib...
If I went in there right now to wonder where she was...or when or even if she would ever be home...I wouldn't have to look very far.
Because she's there
Sleeping. Happy. Healthy. Beautiful. Charming.
All 18 pounds of her
All snuggly and warm and in her cute girlie jammies
She's there
The name on the wall is not just a passing hope
Speaking of hope, I forgot to share with you
We decided while in China that we would give Keira a portion of her Chinese name, so here it is...
Keira Joy Xi
Xi is pronounced "she". Xi means "hope"
Keira Joy "Hope" is sleeping in her bed after four long years of hoping and waiting for her
She's there...in that room, even now...
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

YAY! And please, pretty please, snap us a picture of her precious self sleeping in her sweet bed?
I mean, the one of you all standing there is cute and all. But a sleeping baby? Chubby cheeks all squished against a mattress?
Sigh. :)
Congrats on being home! We just brought our 2nd home a little over a month ago, and my house looked pretty similar for quite a while!
Lovin' it! All of it!
I'm so happy that she is finally in her room. 'Bout time. :)
So stickin happy for you four !!! I certainly hope you and Anton get better soon and that Quint realizes that Ms. Keira is not the enemy. Good luck and I'm sending you lots of prayers and cyber hugs.
AMEN !!!
So happy for you that your years of hoping and waiting left you with such 2 beautiful children.
~Dreams do come true.
The suitcases will eventually be unpacked and put away, the diapers will be gone, the laundry will be semi-caught up ( is laundry EVER caught up??) the dishes will get washed. You will sleep again, And you will get better. And the house will get cleaned up.
'Cause all that matters in the end is that SHE IS HERE!!! ( THERE. whatever, lol.)
I simply can't believe so much has happened since I ventured to your blog. AND, I am SO sorry to have missed out on this totally amazing news. SHE IS HOME!!!! I am teary eyed at seeing her precious face. Congratulations to all four of you. I am so grateful to have followed your journey with Quint at the guesthouse, Addis Ababa and now your sweet baby girl.

Thank you for sharing! I love to read your story and where things are at...so real and transparent. You are a beautiful person! We have just sent off our dossier and so now just waiting. I am hoping and praying for a referral in the next month!
What a beautiful happy baby girl you have. I believe our daugthers are from the same SWI. The Orphanage Director is the same in our photos. Our little girl is 2 yrs. old now and she joined our family in May, 2008. Your pictures reminded me so much of Rachel when we were in China. She was a happy little girl too. Our blog is www.rachellorraine.blogspot.com and my personal email is sherrycrist@hotmail.com. Congratulations and best wishes. Your family is absolutely beautiful.
