Am I the only Mom…

who thinks Play-Doh is freaking the coolest, funnest thing ever???  Keep your Legos (boring!) Quint and I literally played at this for most of the morning.  I know it can be a little bit messy – but I just throw some butcher type paper down over the kitchen table and lay out a couple ground rules (no throwing on the floor or feeding to the dog, etc).  And then we go for it!  I don’t know how they do it over at the Play-Doh Factory but making those little faux patties and buns and pickles…it just doesn't get old.  For either of us.

Well, it got kinda old when he took a bite out of this burger.
But, you know…learning curve.  He’s three.
Guess I need to add that one to the “ground rules”.  Ahem.

i HATE play-doh... my poor children are completely deprived :-) The smell makes me gag, I am forever cleaning it off random spots in my house (does it travel like spores???!!??) and I may have some sensory issues, since I just find it yucky... who knows. Of course, my children LOVE play-doh, and our generous friends and family LOVE to gift our children with these "fun!" kits to "spark their creativity" and "keep them amused for hours!". So, I suffer through play-doh... The things we do for our kids :-)

Very fun! His creations are quite nice. But don't be dissin (is that a word?) Legos, my friend. They will be you BEST FRIEND in years to come. They are the ONLY things boys ages 6-13 will play with quietly. Trust me on this... (well K-nex are a close second)

We love play-doh too! I was in sick in bed all day, the other day - and was so happy when j and j decided to entertain themselves with play-doh rather then TV. :) and when I got up - they had even cleaned it all up and swept any little pieces up.

Whenever I would get the playdough out, Alexa would play for like 2 hours...insane! I love the smell but can't participate since it has gluten in it and I have Celiacs.

It is just some good old fashion fun!

I'm with Ani - it's only been in recent years that I've let it in the house again. When I was pregnant with the older kids, the smell really made me sick. And now that that's not an issue, AND now that LadyBug is MORE than willing to help Li'l E explore the joys of the goopy stuff, I am fine with it. From the other room.

In fact, a few weeks ago, I posted about their "Cake Boss-esque" contest entries. Play Doh - style.
