I'm still alive and currently WITH my gallbladder. I've steadily gained back my "feel goods" and for the most part I'm feeling normal again. See, that's the thing with Mr. Gallbladder though. He strikes when you least expect it. Usually at 2am. So we're just waiting....a little bit...and waiting some more...
In the meantime, my little Keira has had a rough day! She was tired. She was whiny. She was cranky. We were like "what's your prob, kiddo!?" Maybe in a snarky annoyed kind of way. Ahem. Because we were like, she's FOUR. So, yeah...
Well, turns out: she's got a fever, and has the blahs and let's just say - for a kid who is so incredibly healthy all the time - it sent this mama into a tailspin.
Just forget it. I mean, just shut the stinkin' door. I, who profess to know my children so well. Yeah, go ahead...ask me how that's working out for me. I deserve it.
So I'm happily playing nursemaid to Keira, (she's my sweetheart and such a little caretaker!). I asked her tonight if she needed anything at all...she shook her head "yes". I said "what it is, baby?"
She said "love". {Insert Mommy MELLLLLLTTTTTTTTing into a pile of gooey gobbeldy guilty goop here}
I hugged, kissed, and loved ALL OVER that sweet girl!
Meanwhile, Mr. Quint is having a great time playing organized team soccer for the first time. I may or may not scream loudly from the sidelines all sorts of "that'smyboy, canyouevenstandhowcuteheis?!?!" I can neither confirm nor deny. Cough. I think this doesn't bode well for the next 16 years of sports. Because I might end up being that mom who is like ranting and running up and down the field and shouting things like "bad call!" or "REF!! What was that?!?!" or "GO GO GO GO GO!" Gulp.
Oh, and Daddy's the coach. That kinda rocks my world a little bit...
But seriously...what the HECK is the deal with Kinder homework? No, for reals. People. This is no joke. I mean...like HOME. WORK. I was fully unprepared for that little aspect to follow him home everyday. He walks in the door all kinds of worn out and spent and grumpy. Ain't nobody got no time for writing letters. Go ahead...say it...I know you want to: Just You Wait. Right? I know...(sigh)...I know...I ain't seen nothin' honey!
One last tidbit...
Keira and I were at lunch the other day. Looking
at a poster covered in luscious desserts, Keira exclaimed "oh my gosh,
that looks sooooo good'" Which one, I pressed? The cookie? The cake? The
milkshake? "No! The soup down there in the corner!" Lo and
behold...small bowl of noodles in the corner of the poster. My daughter.
